Britains Got Talent Grandad!

Guess who I saw today? Well, the above photo is a bit of a giveaway. I had an appointment in town and I was walking back to the bus along Oxford St, I saw a familiar face stood in the doorway of H and M of all places. It was the Grandad from BGT! I was so excited as he totally made me and my Husband cry when we saw him and his Grand-daughter on the first round of BGT. So I went over and had a quick chat and congratulated him and asked him how the tour was going. He was a complete gent as you can imagine and is totally loving the experience. Then I got a passer by to take a photos of us!

Lexies 70th Birthday

Had an amazing day last Thursday and went to Royal Ascot, with my Mum-in-law Lexie, her sister Anna and my Sister-in-Law Helen. It was such a good day and an rare occasion to get dresses up with hat to boot. We met at Waterloo station and there were loads of people with amazing hats and outfits, it was such a good for people watching. We drank Pimms, whilst we picked our Horses. I of course went on the outfits to choose my winners and there were some great colour combinations to choose from. I won 2 races too! Who'd have thought.....
The Queen arrived and gave us a wave and we drank champagne on the lawn in the afternoon. We left with some great memories and rather weary feet. As you can see from the photos below there were some Gemma Lister Jewellery specials on show. I of course was wearing my Gold Horse Pendant, Helen was wearing her Black Agate Bracelet, which was a Christmas present, and Lexie was wearing her Birthday present, which was a Green Swarovksi Heart Pendant.

Minna Parikka Shoes

Hi There,

I just thought I would let you on a secret! You may or may not have heard of Minna Parikka shoes, so if not let me enlighten you. I met Minna a long long time ago in a Night Club actually in London. Minna looked all lovely in her vinate get up and we made friends. She was studying shoe design at the time and we kept in touch vaguely through email.

Anyhow, our paths have crossed many time in the last few years at various events and exhibitions. She set up her own shoe label soon after graduating and now has a beautiful shop in Helskini, where she lives.

Her shoes are cute and sexy at the same time and my first pair were this amazing pair of black crinkle patent shoe boots, way before they became popular. They have little mini hearts on the ends of the laces and the back has a scalloped edge along the seam. They are amazing and although I have worn them to death they are still doing well and still the perfect shoe boot.

I am waiting for my next pair to arrive and I am very excited indeed. I have gone for something a bit more elegant this time for a change, I'll post a pic when they arrive.

Below are some pics of my all time favorites. I hope you enjoy them too and they bring a smile to your face.

Have a nice weekend.

Treasure

Last night I went to the opening night of Treasure in Covent Garden, which was an exhibition of jewellers as part of Coutts Jewellery Week, which has had lots of interesting things going on all week.

As well as the jewellery on display there were some amazing prints hung around the building, which were part of a Hidden Gems display put on by the East End Arts Club.

www.eastendartsclub.co.uk

Some of them were amazing, there was a mixture of framed limited editions and originals from artists, illustrators, print-makers, graphic designers and photographers. They were all available to buy and you can find out more infomartion at the website above.

As you went downstairs there was this amazing paper installation of paper cut outs all laid out, it looks really cool and created amazing shadows.

My Sugarland

My O My this shop is lovely! It's a really big space and you walk in and you don't know which way to go or what to look at first. It's full of a mixture of amazing vintage finds, cool designers, such as PPQ and Mini Market and Armand Basi and new less established deisgners and graduates.

Shoes, hats, scarves, bags, clothes, sunglasses, hair rollers, tights, cards you name it, it really is packed full of goodies.

Check it out below.......

A lot of the stuff I fell in love with was from this Swedish label called Mini Market, which I actually hadn't heard of before. They do really fun, humurous clothes, which is right up my street. Bold colours too. My fave was the Lady Bug jumper. I'll have to save up for that I think!

Lulus 20th Anniversary Party!

This is me and my Lulu friends enjoying a night at the Victoria and Albert Museum last night.

It was to celebrate Lulus 20 years in the business and she did look ace in her Giles Deacon dress with two cartoon eyes appliqued on the top.

We drank cocktails with floating pansies in the top, which were so pretty and had a chance to catch up with work colleagues old and new.

The rain stayed away, which meant we spent the whole evening outside in the courtyard with a dozen huge floating red lips in the water!

Japanese Elle

Ths is a lovely article in Japanese Elle, which features London girls who love Vintage. Below is my friend Jenny, who clearly has some amazing vintage stuff!
